All the Essential Tools Within Reach
ALM DICOM Viewer offers a comprehensive set of basic tools for image manipulation and measurement, including:
Smooth Zooming and Panning: Effortlessly navigate through images with fluid zoom and pan functions.
Brightness and Contrast Adjustments: Fine-tune image brightness and contrast, with a negative mode option.
Preset Window Settings: Optimize views for Computed Tomography (CT) images, such as lung and bone presets.
Image Rotation and Flipping: Easily rotate images by 90 or 180 degrees, or flip them horizontally and vertically.
Segment Length Measurement: Accurately measure the length of image segments.
Parameter Analysis: Determine mean, minimum, and maximum values (e.g., density in Hounsfield Units for CT) within defined areas like circles or ellipses.
Angle Measurement: Measure normal angles and Cobb angles for precise analysis.
Freehand Drawing: Use the pen tool for detailed, freehand annotations and drawings.
Area Measurement: Allows users to outline a region of interest on a 2D image (e.g., a CT or MRI slice) and calculate its area.
Volume Measurement: Extends the area measurement across multiple slices to calculate the volume of a 3D structure. Distance Measurement: Measures the linear distance between two points, useful for assessing the size of anatomical structures.
PET-CT image fusion
Overlay a color-mapped PET image onto a CT scan to obtain anatomical references for regions with increased FDG (fluorodeoxyglucose) uptake values. Use the ellipse tool to measure maximum, minimum and average values of SUVbw (Standardized Uptake Value calculated using body weight) in a specified area.
Image fusion can also be applied to other imaging modalities, such as Magnetic Resonance, e.g. DWI images can be fused with T1 or T2 weighted scans.
