Intelligent, Effortless, Rapid
Streamline Your DICOM Experience with Our Advanced Viewer
Do you know how frustrating it can be to endlessly wait for a CD with a DICOM study to open or to burn a CD/DVD? Now, with our advanced DICOM Viewer, you can directly open studies from your computer without any delays. Experience the convenience and power of an advanced-level DICOM viewer that includes state-of-the-art features and tools:
Direct Study Access: Open DICOM studies directly from your computer, eliminating the need for physical media.
Comprehensive Toolset: Utilize an extensive range of tools for image manipulation and analysis.
3D and 4D Visualization: Generate detailed 3D models and view time-sequenced 4D images.
Advanced Functionalities: Benefit from features like multi-planar reconstruction (MPR), segmentation, and cine mode.
Local Archive
The local archive feature enables you to import DICOM studies from CD/DVD discs, USB flash drives, local and network folders, or PACS servers, and store them on your local hard drive for easy access later.
This feature is especially useful when the original media is no longer available or when you prefer to open the study without repeatedly retrieving it from a PACS server.
Additionally, you can access the database to organize and quickly find studies within your collection of DICOM files stored on the hard drive.
Multi-touch support
If you have a Windows 8 or Windows 10, Windows 11 touch-enabled device, you might find that gestures (motions that you make with one, two or more fingers) are easier to use than a mouse or keyboard. ALM Viewer enables users to make use of the array of multi-touch gestures:
Touch the image with one finger and move it to browse through images of the displayed series.
To zoom in or out, touch two points on the image, and then move your fingers away from or toward each other. Drag the image with two fingers to move it and show invisible parts of the zoomed image.
You can change the window settings (brightness/contrast) by touching the image with three fingers and moving them up/down (brightness) or left/right (contrast).
Security:
Zero Trust Security: Ensuring that every user and device is continuously authenticated and authorized. This advanced security model minimizes risks by enforcing strict access controls, providing robust protection against unauthorized access from internal and external network.
Compliance: Adheres to industry standards such as HIPAA and GDPR, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Access Control: Role-based access control (RBAC) ensures that only authorized personnel can access sensitive data.
Secure User Authentication: Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to prevent unauthorized access.
Supports multiple DICOM file types
The software has the capability to open and display studies obtained from different imaging modalities:
Digital Radiography (CR, DX)
Mammography (MG)
Computed Tomography (CT)
Magnetic Resonance (MR)
Positron Emission Tomography PET-CT (PT)
Ultrasonography (US)
Digital Angiography (XA)
Gamma Camera, Nuclear Medicine (NM)
Secondary Pictures and Scanned Images (SC) ( JPEG, PNG)
Export Reports
Many types of DICOM images are supported:
Monochromatic (e.g. CR, CT, MR) and color (e.g. US, 3D reconstructions)
Static images (e.g. CR, MG, CT) and dynamic sequences (e.g. XA, US)
Uncompressed and compressed (RLE, JPEG Lossy, JPEG Lossless, JPEG 2000)
All the Essential Tools Within Reach
ALM DICOM Viewer offers a comprehensive set of basic tools for image manipulation and measurement, including:
Smooth Zooming and Panning: Effortlessly navigate through images with fluid zoom and pan functions.
Brightness and Contrast Adjustments: Fine-tune image brightness and contrast, with a negative mode option.
Preset Window Settings: Optimize views for Computed Tomography (CT) images, such as lung and bone presets.
Image Rotation and Flipping: Easily rotate images by 90 or 180 degrees, or flip them horizontally and vertically.
Segment Length Measurement: Accurately measure the length of image segments.
Parameter Analysis: Determine mean, minimum, and maximum values (e.g., density in Hounsfield Units for CT) within defined areas like circles or ellipses.
Angle Measurement: Measure normal angles and Cobb angles for precise analysis.
Freehand Drawing: Use the pen tool for detailed, freehand annotations and drawings.
Area Measurement: Allows users to outline a region of interest on a 2D image (e.g., a CT or MRI slice) and calculate its area.
Volume Measurement: Extends the area measurement across multiple slices to calculate the volume of a 3D structure.
Distance Measurement: Measures the linear distance between two points, useful for assessing the size of anatomical structures.
Advanced Tools for Enhanced Analysis
3D Visualization: Generate 3D models from 2D image slices for a comprehensive view of anatomical structures.
4D Imaging: View time-sequenced images to analyze dynamic processes, such as cardiac cycles.
Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR): Reconstruct images in axial, sagittal, and coronal planes for detailed analysis.
Segmentation: Identify and isolate specific tissues or structures within images for focused study.
Cine Mode: Play back image sequences as a movie to observe motion and changes over time.
PET-CT image fusion
Overlay a color-mapped PET image onto a CT scan to obtain anatomical references for regions with increased FDG (fluorodeoxyglucose) uptake values.
Use the ellipse tool to measure maximum, minimum and average values of SUVbw (Standardized Uptake Value calculated using body weight) in a specified area.
Image fusion can also be applied to other imaging modalities, such as Magnetic Resonance, e.g. DWI images can be fused with T1 or T2-weighted scans.
